Code + Carbon / Legal

Privacy Policy

How Code + Carbon collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website or get in touch.

Last updated September 7, 2026

Who we are and how to contact us

Code + Carbon ("we," "us," or "our") operates this website and is responsible for the personal information we collect through it. This policy covers visitors and project inquiries. Information handled as part of a client engagement may also be covered by a separate agreement.

For privacy questions or requests, email support@codeandcarbon.com.

Information we collect

  • Information you provide. When you send an inquiry, we collect your name, email address, selected service, and message. We also receive information you share in follow-up correspondence.
  • Technical information. Our website and service providers may process your IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, timestamps, and error or security events to deliver and protect the site.
  • Session information. We use cookies and session records to support the inquiry form, prevent forged requests, and display submission feedback.

Please do not include passwords, payment-card details, sensitive personal information, or information you are not authorized to share in an inquiry.

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries, understand potential projects, communicate with you, operate and troubleshoot the website, prevent spam and abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations. Inquiry details are stored in our records and included in an email notification to us.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract, our legitimate interests in responding to inquiries and maintaining a secure website, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses cookies needed for its session and security features. Blocking these cookies in your browser may prevent the inquiry form from working correctly.

We do not use advertising trackers or cross-site marketing cookies on this website. Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list.

Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help protect our inquiry forms from spam and automated abuse. When enabled, Turnstile runs an invisible check in your browser without displaying a challenge widget.

Cloudflare processes technical signals, which can include your IP address, browser information, connection characteristics, and the website being visited. These signals help distinguish people from bots and improve Turnstile’s bot detection. Our Turnstile verification request contains a verification token, not the name, email address, or message from your inquiry.

For details about this processing, please read Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Privacy Policy. You can contact us about the use of Turnstile on this website.

When information is shared

We use providers for website hosting, data storage, email delivery, and security, including Cloudflare for Turnstile. These providers process information needed to supply their services. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, investigate abuse, or respond to a security incident.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required by applicable law, international transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here. The period depends on whether an inquiry is ongoing, whether it becomes a client relationship, and any recordkeeping, legal, or security needs. Copies may also remain in routine backups for their normal lifecycle.

We use reasonable measures to protect personal information. No website, storage system, or method of transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of your information, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Email support@codeandcarbon.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some information may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or protect legal rights. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children’s information

This website is intended for people exploring business services and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website, practices, or legal obligations change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice when required by applicable law.
